The standard describes the fundamentals as well as general requirements for the instrument "room book" and defines an outline structure for the (machine-readable) mapping of information. Basic contents of room books for the life cycle phases "conception", "planning", "construction" as well as "operation and use" are defined and conventional templates for printed room book sheets are developed. The standard serves architects, planners, investors and users alike.
