With ratio radiation thermometers, the temperature is determined by measuring and creating the ratio of the radiance in two wavelength ranges. In VDI/VDE 3511 Part 4, basic instructions are given for performing the temperature measurements with radiation temperature measuring instruments in an advantageous way. Based on this, VDI/VDE 3511 Part 4.7 introduces the basics of ratio radiation thermometers and gives instructions for their use in practice. This standard is aimed at users of ratio radiation thermometers.
