The use of the "BIM" method is establishing itself in the construction and real estate industry. As a result, the information management of building-related data in development, planning, construction, operation and demolition is increasingly coming into focus. BIM use cases are a central component of this. As the number of BIM use cases grows, a user-friendly, systematic and standardised approach to differentiating and identifying BIM use cases is becoming increasingly important. This expert recommendation includes the description of metadata for identifying BIM use cases. This metadata represents the properties of a BIM use case and should be used on platforms for structured storage and finding of BIM use cases.
