The standard supports foundries by demonstrating technological approaches for cleaner production measures and assesses both the sub-steps as well as the overall process in foundries in detail. It allows the user to create a connection to operational management systems for quality, environmental protection and occupational safety. Thus, the standard helps to create a continuous improvement process in the company. The standard is aimed primarily at practitioners from small and medium enterprises, which also require a methodological tool in addition to information.
