The standard deals with waste gas cleaning methods for gaseous and aerosol-shaped air contaminants caused by combustion processes. The different methods, e.g. wet scrubbers or dry sorbent injection processes for sulphur oxides and halogenides (SO2, HCl and HF) as well as SCR and SNCR facilities for combustion of nitric oxides are particularly dealt with. Besides information on planning, construction and operation of the waste gas cleaning methods practical examples are presented for clarification of the overall spectrum. Additionally, the standard describes the products accumulating in the course of the processes as well as treatment of waste water at the different combustion plants by means of waste gas cleaning facilities. The standard applies to plant operators and manufacturers, methods engineers as well as to controlling and surveillance authorities.
