Heel guidings offer a simple alternative guidance system which is widely used with medium stamping and forming dies made from casting and steel plates. Heel guidings are designed to guide the upper and lower die shoe to facilitate tool set-up and try out and to retain the clearance during the service life. Unlike round guides, heel guidings can also absorb lateral shear forces. The standard provides construction notes, application and sample dimensions.
