A holistic view of planning and building of construction projects enables improvement of quality and prevents waste of resources. "Lean construction" describes a practise-tested approach for economical and cooperative development of construction projects. Lean construction is the adaptation of lean management, which has been practised for a long time, for example in the automotive industry. The aim is to finish construction projects within the planned budget, with the least possible unplanned effort and in the desired quality. This standard describes the fundamentals and methods of lean construction.
