The standard describes the basics and instruments to describe the BIM process over the entire lifecycle of a building. In order to enable this content-related information flow with the BIM working methodology, this standard outlines an information management process for its implementation. No specific specialist processes are defined in this standard. The basics and instruments for a specialist process definition are presented. The process definition includes the description of the form and content of the exchanged data as well as the tasks and roles of the project participants. In addition, the starting conditions for the start of a process, the successive process steps and the conditions for a successful process end or termination are defined.
