Audiovisual communication technology has become an essential and integral part of the building infrastructure. It must therefore already be taken into account in the project development and planning process. This standard provides basic and detailed specifications that have been lacking up to now for the planning of audiovisual communication technology in the con¬text of new construction and renovation measures. This standard serves as an orientation for planners, architects, contractors, general contractors, integrators, installers, owners, proprietors, and operators, insofar as they are involved in or commissioned with the conceptual design and planning of new buildings, extensions and conversions, of local building areas as well as the renovation of fixed rooms, buildings and parts of buildings in a binding manner and with their own contribution.
