This standard deals with the emission reduction of plants for the production of cements. These include the process steps pre-homogenisation and transport of the raw material, crushing and grinding of the raw material, homogenization of the raw meal, burning of the clinker in rotary kilns, cooling and storage of the clinker as well as the cement grinding. In the kiln plants of the cement industry, so-called clinker is produced from the kiln meal. This happens in counter current flow of the combustion gas and raw material. The clinker burning process is also a suitable method for the environmentally sound energy and material recovery of waste. The use of waste in the cement industry and the measurement and monitoring of emissions are also subject of this standard.
