The standard describes typical influences on the result of measurement of dimensional measurements with industrial computed tomography (CT). For this, the different dimensional measuring tasks are classified, which can be realised using an industrial CT. Recommendations regarding the quality assurance of dimensional measurements with CT are given in the Annex of the standard. Only axial CT-systems with a rotation of the examined workpiece around a space-fixed axle are considered. The rotation takes place orthogonal to the radiographic direction. Industrial CT devices with X-ray tubes and line accelerators are regarded as the sources of X-ray. Further more, the structure of typical industrial CT equipment for which the indicated measured variables are valid is described. The descriptive factors of influence are valid both for fan beam CT and for cone beam CT.
