- Abstract
-
The standard can be applied to engineering organisations that plan, create and/or commission automated machines or plants. In addition to terms and definitions, the basics and the engineering phases as well as the instructions for working with this series of standards are presented. The series of standards VDI/VDE 3695 serves as a support for engineering organisations (EO) in their technical, organisational and economic environment. On the basis of their classification according to a list of criteria, measures can be determined and selected to help the targeted development of the EO. The series of standards supports organisations in assessing their own current situation, give advice on what target statuses might be desirable under the given constraints and conditions of the organisation, points out possible ways (suitable or necessary measures) towards the desired target statuses, explains the causal dependencies between measures and the necessary prerequisites that make these measures work out, and demonstrates which costs, risks and chances are linked to introducing a measure.
