- Abstract
-
The application of this standard ensures that guests and patients seeking recovery or an improvement in their state of health, taking preventive measures or making use of rehabilitation measures are provided with thermal, actinic and air-hygienic conditions that are conducive to this. The standard summarizes the human-biometeorological findings for the assessment of thermal, actinic and air-hygienic conditions in the field of recreation, prevention, healing and rehabilitation and describes suitable procedures and reference values for this purpose. The guideline values for air quality derived in this standard from the 39th BImSchV are intended to exclude health risks and impairments to the well-being of guests and patients caused by air pollution. The test methods required for this task are presented. The guide values and test methods described in this standard do not replace the legal regulations for monitoring air quality. Rather, the requirements for air quality in the sense of this standard presuppose that the legal immission limit values in accordance with the 39th BImSchV are complied with. Monitoring the legal limit values is the responsibility of the competent state authorities.
