The standard is aimed at users of simulation technology (planners, suppliers, operators, service providers) that are involved in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of simulation studies to investigate systems in materials handling, logistics and production. The standard defines the terms used in the series of standards VDI 3633 and VDI 4465, using general and simulation-based descriptions, optionally followed by examples and illustrations.
